17-03-2018 (08:00) Heron Lake unavailable for fishing due to Private Fishing Match

Please note that Heron Lake will be unavailable for day fishing from
8am - 5pm on Sunday 18th March 2018 due to a private fishing match

Stan's Lake will be available for all other anglers wishing to fish.

30-03-2018 (14:00:00) Sam's Bar Serving Drinks and Snacks

Sam's Bar will reopen for the 2018 season on Friday 30th March at 2pm, then every Friday and Saturday evening from 6pm - 10pm for the remainder of the season.

Sometimes we may close earlier, sometimes we may close later depending on demand and the weather !

We offer a range of alcoholic beverages, soft drinks and bar snacks such as crisps and peanuts. Come and join us for a drink and take a seat undercover in the BBQ Barn or enjoy the scenery from the outdoor seating area. (Please note the bar is cash only)

Blackland Lakes is an ideal venue for Rallies and Group events. Hire part of a field, a whole field or even several ! The BBQ Barn and licenced bar can be incorporated into your package. Subject to availability and terms and conditions. Please enquire for 2018 and 2019 availability.

Many of Wiltshire's towns have a weekly market you can take a stroll around and take the opportunity to purchase fresh, local produce direct from the suppliers. A small sample are below but you can obtain a full guide to Wiltshire's many markets from copying the link.


Calne Weekly Market: Friday from 8am - 3pm Farmer's Market: Second Saturday of each month from 9am - 1pm

Devizes Weekly Market: Thursday from 8am - 3pm Farmer's Market: First and Third Saturday of every month from 9am - 1pm

Marlborough Weekly Market: Saturday from 8:30am - 3:30pm

31-12-2018 (12:00:00) Blackland Nature Trail

You are welcome to walk our Nature Trail which runs around the site with information points to help learn about the local wildlife, vegetation and our pygmy goats. We produce an activity leaflet which children can complete whilst following the Trail. These can be purchased from Reception at a cost of £2 per child and includes goat food and a certificate on completion of the trail. All children must be supervised whilst walking the Nature Trail and feeding the goats. You are welcome to send us any photos of the wildlife or flowers you may spot along the way to enquiries@blacklandlakes.co.uk or you can share them on our Facebook, Twitter or Instagram pages.

Our natural surroundings provide habitats and feeding grounds for a huge variety of wildlife which you may be able to see whilst staying with us. We have started a list of all the species that have been spotted on or around our site and we would be really interested to know about what you see or even hear ! ( e.g owls) We would love to see your photos. Amongst the list are hares, muntjac deer, red kites soaring above, woodpeckers, kingfishers, grey squirrels and various other birds, animals and insects.
